What this calculator does

This time card calculator builds a weekly time card from daily clock-in and clock-out times. It subtracts unpaid breaks, shows a per-day breakdown, and totals the week into hours, decimal hours and estimated pay. Shifts that cross midnight are handled automatically.

Formula

Daily work time = clock-out − clock-in − unpaid break
Weekly total = sum of daily work times
If clock-out ≤ clock-in, the clock-out is counted on the following day.

Worked example

Example (shown in US dollars): You clock in at 8:30 and out at 17:00 with a 30-minute lunch, Monday to Friday. Each day is 8 h 30 min minus 30 min, so 8 h 00 min per day. The weekly total is 40 h 00 min (40.00 decimal), and at $22 per hour the estimated gross pay is $880.00. Use the currency selector to display the same amount with another symbol.

How the calculation works

  1. Enter clock-in and clock-out times for each day you worked, plus any unpaid break in minutes.
  2. Check the per-day breakdown table to verify each day against your time card.
  3. Add an hourly rate to see estimated gross pay for the week.
